Create double rabbets ideal for picture frames. The front rabbet is specifically designed for glass with the back rabbet leaving enough space for the artwork and backing. Choose from bits designed for 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" glass.

This bit will step-rabbet the back of your picture frame allowing ample space for glass, artwork and backing. The Router bit cuts a 3/16" thick front rabbet for your glass or mirror, and an additional back rabbet of upto 5/8" for your artwork and backing board. The stock should be routed in a vertical position using the fence to adjust the back rabbet depth. Two flute meeting carbide cutters with a 1/2" Shank.

I found out the hard way that 14-degree bits from other manufacturers aren’t necessarily 14 degrees. These are precise and sharp and stay sharp longer than the cheaper brands. Just one tear-out from a cheaper bit will cost more than you save with the cheaper bit.

These bits seem to be pretty good quality for the price, hard to tell the difference from the one freud dovetail bit i have. i have other cheaper bits where the carbide is longer or sticks out further on one side, and are just poor quality.
only issue i had was that the bits seem to be glued into the holes in the wooden box they are shipped in. very hard to remove, and use CAUTION when removing as they are sharp. i ended up using thick gloves to remove most of them but the smallest bit i had to use pliers.
