Worked great for what I needed it for. I only used it on soft pine and did great, but I could tell that anything much harder would probably bog it down. The instructions stated that you should only route one quarter inch at a time. THAT IS IMPORTANT! When I felt lazy and tried to cut the whole half inch, it destroyed my board and the kick back nearly threw it through my garage door. Maybe if you took even less off at a time, you could cut harder woods, but it really slows down your project and if the board moves at all during the deeper cuts, it will mess up your shallower ones.
Over all, sufficient for the casual DIYer, but if you're working with anything harder than pine or plan on using it on a regular basis, invest in a higher end bit.

When I bought this router bit I wasn't sure if it was the one I needed. So when it arrived I was eager to try it and it was absolutely perfect. A great purchase.
