While chamfer bits are mostly used for edging, these bits can also be used to create miter joints of various angles. Some of the available angle degrees are 11.25°, 15°, 22.5°, 30° & 45°. Cutting these angles into 2 adjoining pieces of wood will create miter joints of 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 60° & 90° degrees respectively.

Make 22.5° chamfer and bevel cuts with this chamfer router bit. This 22.5 degree chamfer router bit can be used with stock up to 1" thick. Two flute carbide cutters and 1/4" shank diameter.

When the cheap plastic frame on a large mirror broke, my daughter wanted a new wood frame for it. Using some leftover and rather knotty 2x6 lumber, we ripped it and fashioned a functional but rather boring-looking frame.

The Classical Roman Ogee bit looked great coming out of the package and it went well through approximately 21 feet, inside and outside the frame, through typical wood and knots alike (see photo for example). Yes, it took a quick sanding with the sander at the cut-to-frame interfaces, but the routed portion took only a very light hand-sanding with 320 grit sandpaper to get it ready for priming and finish painting. The bit cut uniformly well and evenly, and looked the same at the end as it did at the start. I give this one 5* and a highly recommended rating.
