Top bearing slot cutting router bits are specifically designed for on-site deck board slotting to be used in conjunction with hidden deck board fasteners. The bearing's position allows for easy slotting on deck boards that are already positioned on the deck beams. There is no protrusion at the end of the bit that will interfere with any underlying wood.

This top bearing slot cutter router bit routes a 1/8" x 5/16" slot. The overall diameter is 1-1/4" and 1/4" shank.

When my famous brand name joiner self-destructed (not long after the spindle nut froze on the spindle, preventing blade changes), I knew one thing- I was not replacing this under-utilized, prima donna tool.

Enter this router bit. It cuts slots just as well with far less fussing over setup. I cut a bunch of slots to join skirting boards together and every cut was dead on. And at this price, I could replace them monthly for years before I come up to the cost of the joiner it replaced. I could not be happier.

Very sharp. Edges are sharp and clean. Pieces fit together like a glove, would buy again.

Easy, good, affordable. I needed the bit to extend a hardwood floor by a few inches and had to remove and replace a too-small piece with one slightly larger. I had to cut the existing tongue of the piece I removed; this left its tongue glued inside the receiving groove. The router bit perfectly cleaned the groove of the receiving piece and allowed the installation of the new, slightly larger replacement piece as if it were a new install. Painless. (Took nearly longer to write than do!)
